About me
Pregnancy is not an illness Childbirth is not a medical emergency.
Hi there I am Katie Smith. I am a mom of 4 kids and have been married for over 16 years. When I was pregnant with my first child I hired a doula, and she was amazing. After that I was hooked on all things birth and wanted to know more. I waited till I had all my kids before I decided to jump in two feet first and become a certified birth doula with both Tiny Love Doula as well as The Midwifery Institute. From there I started training with True Midwifery and The Ancient Art of Midwifery to be a midwife/birthkeeper. Not only that but I have also created my own Childbirth class from the wealth of knowledge and skills I have gained.
I have had the joy and honor of supporting countless families during their magical journey into parenthood. I believe in the power of natural birth and the value of essential oils and holistic health practices for both mother and baby. I am also an advocate for evidence-based care and women's autonomy through my work as a birth keeper. I strive to provide information, support and resources to help women make the choices that feel right to them during pregnancy, birth and early motherhood.
When I am not busy in the birth world I am also a homeschooling mom and a substitute teacher.
I am always taking new classes all the time to keep learning new things. Here are just a few that she have taken in the last year:
